Predominantly inflation, the credit crisis, the world food crisis and the rising cost of oil are affecting most developed countries. Worst still, the countries we most strongly identify with, the USA and the UK, are amongst the worst hit by plummeting house prices. It is natural for us to be worried about the prospect of suffering the same fate.
